Examples of Childcare Timeshare groups [ Reply ] By: Dan Field on 2005-10-31 02:50 | [forum:552] |
Here's a hypothetical example of the way one group might work. Mary, Jane, Don and Bob have various shift jobs. They are nurses and police officers working 12 hour shifts, three to four days a week. They arrange their work days so that every week, there is at least one of them not working on any given day. They make a calendar so that they can plan each person's childcare day in advance. The two who are working drop their children off at the designated house before work, and pick them up on the way home. On days when more than one of them is off work at the same time, a second parent might stop by a couple times during the day to provide a break or help. What about traditional, 9-5 weekday working people? How can they form a group or fit into one? Is it fair for a grandparent to be the childcare giver? What do you think? |
