I'm sitting at my PC debugging my program, and I accidentally hit a key to execute a command that I didn't mean to hit. So I hit the Esc key, which I had set up in the terminal emulator to be the ATTN key. The 'attention' key on a mainframe terminal usually tells the application that the user wants to interrupt his current process. But that's not what happens when fish hits his PC's escape key. Instead, there's an immediate system shutdown.
